Connections: Discussing the launch of the AMPED climate initiative

Four AMPED steering committee members talked with Evan Dawson on Connections Friday, September 24. They talked about the AMPED campaign and field questions about how we move the region toward use of our clean energy to power our buildings and vehicles.

Here are some key take-aways:

  1. The three P’s of business: Profit, People, Planet demand that we do this work. Not only is it good business but our state is pushing us in this direction so having a roadmap to beneficial electrification is better to establish now so that you have a chance to plan for it..

  2. Heat pump solutions work for both new buildings and retrofits and the payback period could be shorter than you think based on available incentives, rebates and lower operating expenses.

  3. Installing charging stations is very affordable with incentives and rebates and you don’t need a charging station for each employee since many who drive EVs don’t need to charge while they are at work.
