Pizza Delivery that Runs on Electric?

One local pizza delivery operation is watching gas prices skyrocket from the comfort of their electric vehicles.

Chevvy Bolt

If you’ve been to the gas station lately, you’re well aware that New York State has some of the highest gasoline prices in the country. But New York also has the cleanest electric grid, making it the top place to plug in to clean energy.

Enter Salvatore’s pizza and their new fleet of Chevvy Bolts. Like most organizations over the last few unpredictable years, Salvatore’s was striving for efficiencies. “I could see the prices slowly starting to creep up and I wanted to stay ahead of the game with it,” said Silvio Fantauzzo, owner at Salvatore's Pizzeria.

“We are saving a lot of money on gas now it really hasn't impacted our RG&E bill right now and our drivers are loving them, our customers are so excited when we show up in these cars," Fantauzzo said. After the success of their first wave of EV delivery vehicles, Salvatore’s is eventually looking to switch all of its vehicles to electric. This is another great example of how going electric doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Why Convert to an Electric Fleet?

  1. Smooth Operations

    • Dramatically lower costs than conventional gasoline make EVs cheaper to operate.

    • EVs are inherently more reliable and require less maintenance due to fewer mechanical parts.

  2. Cleaner Air & Healthier Communities

    • EVs have no tailpipe emissions. This especially benefits those who live in cities.

    • EVs help reduce dependence on oil and protect from market volatility.

  3. The Bottom Line

    • Incentives for both EVs and charging stations are generally available and constantly changing.

    • Most EV dealers offer direct purchase and leasing options.

    • EVs help reduce our dependence on oil and protect from market volatility.

    • More consumers are putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to sustainability.
