RG&E Offers Financial Support for Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installations
This is really great news for the RG&E service area that covers most of our 9-county region. The EV Charger Make-Ready Program offers rebates to business and municipal customers who install EV chargers. The purpose of these rebates are to offset construction costs associated with the electrical infrastructure (make-ready) required to support L2 and DCFC chargers. You may be eligible for up to 100% of your make-ready costs.
Key Elements of the Program:
Available to towns & cities, retail businesses, workplaces, multi-unit dwellings.
Helps cover costs of utility-side infrastructure and customer-side infrastructure.
RG&E reimburses for up to 50%, 90% or 100% for eligible sites.
Installation must be done by an R&GE approved contractor.
Includes standard L2 plugs, DC fast charging plugs and proprietary plugs (funding levels vary).
100% of the infrastructure cost and charging stations may be eligible if located in the Disadvantaged Communities Map.
